Intergenerational Table Reading with MPTF

For the past five years, The Nest has proudly partnered with the Motion Picture & Television Fund to bring interactive, intergenerational play readings to the MPTF community. These gatherings create a welcoming space where stories are shared out loud, voices of all ages are invited into the room, and connection takes center stage.

Each event blends live theatrical reading with conversation and participation, encouraging residents, artists, and community members to engage across generations. The result is a joyful, low-pressure theatrical experience that sparks memory, creativity, and human connection—no prior theater experience required.

This ongoing collaboration reflects The Nest’s commitment to accessibility, outreach, and using performance as a tool for belonging. Together with MPTF, we celebrate storytelling as a living, communal act that brings people together, one page at a time.

As a volunteer you will assist The Nest crew with organizing the scripts, welcoming our guests and reading/performing along with the MPTF residents!
