Director
Directors are responsible for bringing a production to life through artistic leadership, collaboration, and storytelling. Directors will work closely with playwrights, actors, and festival staff to develop and stage their assigned piece, guiding rehearsals and shaping the overall vision of the production.
This position is ideal for both emerging and experienced directors who are eager to collaborate, experiment, and grow their craft. All Directors selected for the festival will receive mentorship from Bird throughout the process, including support with artistic development, rehearsal practices, production planning, and realizing their creative vision.
Actor
Actors are the heart of the festival's productions, bringing scripts to life through performance, collaboration, and creative exploration. Actors may be cast in one or more productions and will work closely with directors, fellow performers, and festival staff throughout rehearsals and performances.
We welcome performers of all experience levels who are excited to take creative risks, support new work, and contribute to a collaborative artistic environment. Reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to engage in the creative process are essential.
Production Assistant
Production Assistants provide essential support to the festival's creative and production teams. Responsibilities may include assisting with rehearsals, helping with event setup and strike, supporting stage management and front-of-house operations, coordinating materials, and ensuring productions run smoothly.
This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in learning more about theater production, arts administration, and behind-the-scenes operations. Production Assistants will gain hands-on experience while working closely with artists, directors, and festival leadership.
